After another excellent AGM I am pretty sure most of the attending members are looking forward to what 2011 has on offer

Moyra & Dave done a great job organising the venue and accommodation and a big thank you from everyone who attended. We don’t quite know what goes into organising the event but I know Moyra and Dave spend many hours touring areas for suitable accommodation and I know Moyra uses her negotiating skills to break a deal that both the club and the hosts are happy with. Thank You.
The usual attendees were among the revellers but it was great to see some new faces, if not necessarily new members.
John & James Watt, Lesley & Albert Downard, Gil Duthie & Jenni & Paul Goodman have all been members for a while and it was nice  to have them come to Glengoyne, even if some of them have been to AGMs before.

New members David Butler appeared for his first AGM, travelling up from Hereford, and hopefully not his last. Great to meet you David.
Kay & Des Morris attended this their third AGM, as did Elizabeth & Peter Donald, their second. Peter & Judy Kimber travelled from our area and although Peter has attended quite a few AGMs it was great to see Judy taking part aswell.
Iain, sorry for spelling your name wrong twice on your name badge. Once without the I, and secondly with the e.
Mario & Dagi deserve a mention here because they travelled the furthest, all the way from Germany. I am not sure if Mario took any Macallans home with him but I am sure they both enjoyed themselves anyway. The trip for them was hot on the heels of their trip to the USA mini bottle club’s AGM. They do get around!

Going back to the ‘usual faces’ mentioned at the beginning. Without those members the club would fall apart I am sure, thanks to all of you for making our AGM as successful as it now is.
And of course we managed to recruit a publicity officer. Gil Duthie volunteered to take on the role. What with most of us finding out about the club leaflets in via shops etc. it will be great to perhaps get some leaflets back in small outlets for potential new members to pick up.
Another AGM over and next year’s to look forward to, I wish you all well and look forward to all those membership articles coming in!     Jacky
